Apple Watch Ultra 4 Price in Uganda: Specs and Where to Buy

The case looks the same as before, so this is not a redesign. The changes are inside: a new chip, a new heart sensing system and better battery numbers for long workouts. Here is what that means if you are buying in Uganda.
What is new on the Apple Watch Ultra 4
The watch now runs on the S11 chip. The big addition is what Apple calls the Health Sensing System, which uses new optical and electrical heart sensors. Apple says heart rate is now read every five seconds through the day, and heart rate variability (HRV) is measured up to 24 times more often than before.
On top of that sits a Readiness score. It is a number from 0 to 10, worked out from your recent activity, training load, vitals and sleep. It gives you one of four prompts: Recover, Pace Yourself, Ready or Go For It. Apple notes that these vitals are for wellness only and not for medical use.
Design, colours and bands
You still get the 49 mm Grade 5 titanium case (49 x 44 x 12 mm, 63 g) with a flat sapphire display. The Always-On Retina screen reaches 3000 nits at peak. Storage is 64GB.
There are two case finishes, natural titanium and black titanium. The new bands are the part most people will notice:
- Trail Loop: dark umber, sand, burgundy
- Alpine Loop: desert, dark olive, burgundy
- Ocean Band: translucent gray, kelp and black
There is also an Apple Watch Hermes Ultra 4 in natural titanium, with a Grand H band made to fit over a wetsuit.
Battery and workouts
Apple quotes up to 50 hours of normal use, and up to 84 hours in Low Power Mode. Extended Workout mode now runs up to 25 hours, which is 25% more than before. A new Max Extended Workout mode stretches to 45 hours for outdoor runs, walks and hikes, with GPS readings every second. It switches off alerts and splits to do it.
Charging is quicker too. Fifteen minutes on the charger gives up to 18 hours of use, and about 80% takes 45 minutes. For anyone in Kampala who has had a power cut at the wrong moment, a short top-up is a real help. Still, use a surge-protected socket and a proper charger, not a cheap unbranded one.
Water resistance is 100 m, with recreational scuba down to 40 m and a depth gauge. Connectivity covers 5G RedCap and LTE, dual-frequency GPS and satellite Emergency SOS. Check with your mobile network that cellular service works on your line before you pay extra for it, and do not assume satellite features are available in Uganda.
Should you upgrade?
The honest answer depends on what you wear now. Apple has not published a full side-by-side with the Ultra 3, apart from the 25% gain in Extended Workout battery life, so we will not pretend there is a big gap.
- Buy it if you have an Ultra 1 or an older Apple Watch and you run, hike, cycle or dive. The heart sensing and battery modes are the reason.
- If you already own an Ultra 3, you can probably wait unless the Readiness score or the new health features matter to you. The Apple Watch Ultra 3 is still a very capable watch.
- If you mostly want notifications, calls and step counts, the Apple Watch Series 12 is the simpler choice.
You need an iPhone to set it up. watchOS 27 needs an iPhone 11 or later, or an iPhone SE (2nd generation or later), running iOS 27. Some features, such as Live Rewind and Siri Recap, need an Apple Intelligence iPhone 16 or later (not the 16e), and the Audio Intelligence features need a Series 12 or Ultra 4.
Before you buy: ask for a sealed box and check that the serial number on the box matches the one in Settings and on Apple's coverage page. Be careful with very cheap grey imports.
