14-inch MacBook Pro M6 in Uganda: Specs, Release Date, Kampala
October 27, 2026 · AppleXtreme Store, Kampala
Source: Apple Newsroom, 27 October 2026 · Written for Uganda by AppleXtreme StoreApple has announced the new 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M6 chip. It is the entry 14-inch Pro, and the headline change is inside: a 12-core CPU and a 12-core GPU, two more cores of each than the M5 version. Pre-orders open on 28 October and it goes on sale on 6 November 2026.
If you are in Kampala and wondering what this means for you, here is the plain version. We are taking reservations on WhatsApp now. The Uganda price is not set yet, and we will confirm it once stock lands. Below is what is new, who it suits, and what to check before you pay anyone.
What is new in the M6 MacBook Pro
The M6 has a 12-core CPU and a 12-core GPU, and each GPU core now has a Neural Accelerator. Apple says graphics are up to 30% faster and on-device AI work is up to 25% faster than the M5 14-inch. The Neural Engine is a dual 16-core design, which Apple puts at up to 1.9 times faster.
Memory starts at 16GB and goes up to 32GB, with bandwidth of up to 170GB/s. Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 are added. It ships with macOS 27.
Apple's own comparisons against the 14-inch M5 are modest for everyday jobs. Xcode builds are up to 1.3 times faster, Blender rendering up to 1.3 times, and image processing in Affinity up to 1.2 times. Those are Apple's figures, tested by Apple, so treat them as a guide.
Design, display and battery
Nothing much changes on the outside. It comes in space black and silver, and the space black finish has an anodization seal that Apple says cuts down fingerprints. The enclosure is 100% recycled aluminium.
The Liquid Retina XDR display reaches up to 1600 nits peak HDR brightness with a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio. You can also choose a nano-texture display, which cuts reflections and glare. If you work near a bright window or outdoors, that option is worth asking about.
Apple quotes up to 24 hours of battery life, the longest it has claimed for a Mac. Real life will be shorter, but it matters when the power cuts out and you still have a deadline.
Ports and everyday kit
- Three Thunderbolt 4 ports, HDMI, an SDXC card slot, MagSafe 3 and a headphone jack
- Support for up to two external displays
- 12MP Center Stage camera with Desk View
- Six-speaker sound system and a three-mic array
The HDMI port and card slot are the practical bits. You can plug straight into a projector at a church, school or conference, and pull photos off a camera card without a dongle.
Fast charging takes you to 50% in about 30 minutes, but only with a higher-wattage USB-C adapter such as Apple's 96W one. Ask us exactly what comes with your configuration so you are not caught out.
Should you upgrade?
Buy the M6 if you are coming from an Intel MacBook or an M1. Apple says Intel upgraders gain up to 14 extra hours of battery and M1 users up to 4, and the speed jump is large. It also suits video editors, photographers, developers and designers who want a Mac that will last for years.
If you already own an M5 MacBook Pro, the gain is real but not dramatic, and you can probably wait. If you mostly browse, write documents and run Zoom, a MacBook Air 13" M5 at from UGX 6,200,000 will do the job for less. And if you want a Pro today rather than in November, the MacBook Pro 14" M5 is in stock at from UGX 6,600,000.
Before you buy: ask for a sealed box and check that the serial number matches the box. Be careful with cheap "new" units from grey imports or sellers with no shop address. Check the charger and plug are right for Uganda's 240V sockets, and get a receipt.Buying in Uganda
